Help – my child is going to kindergarten

How can a child’s horoscope help?

Kindergarten – a place of despair or a rainbow land?

Ms. Basia* is my regular client and has also been Jack’s mother for 2.5 years.

She decided to get a horoscope for her child when she started considering returning to work, but was worried about how her son would react to the new environment.

She remembered quite clearly that she didn’t like kindergarten and felt abandoned by her parents.

Looking at Ms. Basia’s horoscope, this did not surprise me at all.

Her Moon is in Cancer, which indicates a highly emotional nature and attachment to home, especially to the mother. It also forms a disharmonious aspect with Saturn (feelings of abandonment, imposition of discipline). Ms. Basia’s horoscope indicates a more introverted nature, and the large number of planets in fixed signs suggests a rather slow adaptation and sometimes even resistance to change.

Looking at my client as an adult, these same traits have given her a strong will and influenced her style of motherhood—warm and caring, but also with a tendency toward overprotectiveness, possessiveness, and a dislike of institutions.

When I looked at Jack’s horoscope, I breathed a sigh of relief. He is a native Aries with the moon in Sagittarius. Considering that both signs are fiery, he is a child full of energy and optimism. The Sun in Aries is very confident and excited about new challenges. As for the moon in Sagittarius, he feels best when traveling or acquiring new knowledge and interacting with others. For him, the concept of “home” can mean the whole world!

While the moon in Cancer would actually prefer to stay at home, clinging to mommy’s skirt (here my client applauded, saying that every vacation during her childhood she would get a fever and be sick until they returned to her beloved home where she miraculously regained her strength), the Moon in Sagittarius needs space and to broaden its horizons, and it is quite possible that being locked up at home could have a negative effect on its health.

The signs of Cancer and Sagittarius are so different in the zodiac that they don’t have much in common. In practice, this may mean that their emotional nature, needs, and habits (the domains of the moon) will be completely different.

Ms. Basia and her son will probably learn a lot from each other, and awareness of their different needs can be extremely useful, especially when living under the same roof!

But back to kindergarten, the Moon in Sagittarius is a definite YES for me.

Jacek also has a significant number of planets in the third house, which is responsible for interactions with the immediate environment, such as neighbors, siblings, communication, and primary education. This is another hint that kindergarten and interaction with peers will fuel his innate curiosity and desire to explore, and Jacek will feel right at home there.

Now you’re probably wondering why Ms. Basia has any doubts. Doesn’t she know her own child?

As we know, human nature is very complex. That’s why I’m not a fan of general horoscopes for the 12 signs of the zodiac, because we are not just one of 12 templates!

In astrology, there are as many as 10 planets (including the Sun and the Moon, and we have not demoted Pluto).

Each of them corresponds to certain functions and characteristics, each can be in a different sign and in a different sphere of life, and also in different interactions with others, which gives us a rather complicated picture to analyze.

But let’s get to the point. Jacek has a so-called Ascendant in Capricorn with planets nearby.

Our Ascendant influences our personality. It is with this sign that we react to new things and make first impressions. Capricorn gives a more serious and cautious approach. I decided that with such a fiery constellation, this grounding energy is most beneficial.

The planets in the first house (Ascendant) also play an important role in personality. Here I found Mars (anger, impetuosity, sudden strong reactions), Saturn (blockages, responsibility and even more caution) and Pluto (intensity, need for control). Here we have a very strong counterbalance to the previous energies. The planets described in the first house and Ascendant are usually the traits we see first when we come into contact with a young person.

So what does this add to my interpretation?

Jacek should definitely be familiarized with the idea of kindergarten. His mother should tell him well in advance where he will be going, what he will be doing there, and for how long. It is quite possible that his initial reaction will be very intense or met with resistance. It would be good for his mother to find more time on that day to spend with her son at preschool, as this will allow him to get used to his surroundings and feel safe. Little Capricorns do well with structure and discipline, so I believe that after some initial resistance, he will feel very natural there. It is good to talk to such a child as you would to an adult and treat him seriously, without forcing him to do anything, but explaining each activity logically. In the future, with such a wonderful mixture of fire and earth, he could become an effective entrepreneur or businessman if guided properly. Fire gives charisma, enthusiasm, and leadership qualities, while earth adds practicality, perseverance, and focus.

This naturally led us to a discussion about Jack’s talents. Fire and earth also work well in sports, especially those that require not only strength but also perseverance, so I suggested enrolling him in martial arts or athletic sports in the future. We continued our session by discussing potential areas of development and things to work on. The last point of such a consultation is to compare the child’s horoscope with that of their parents. I am always fascinated by how many similarities are visible, as if the universe was just waiting for the perfect alignment of the planets to duplicate the energy of both parents!

Ms. Basia also ordered a service to select the best date for Jack to start his adventure in kindergarten (electional horoscope). Every new undertaking has its “birth,” and from such a horoscope I can read its strengths and weaknesses. Elective astrology has been using this knowledge for centuries to strengthen important moments in our lives by selecting the most harmonious dates that correspond to the topics that are important to us.

Some time after our consultation, Ms. Basia contacted me (I always encourage my clients to give feedback).

Jacek was prepared in advance for the confrontation with the kindergarten. Together with his parents, he watched films and read books on the subject. He also got a backpack and had to pack his things into it every morning and unpack them in the evening. (I mentioned the great need for structure and a serious approach to the subject). On the day of kindergarten, he was very excited. His enthusiasm waned when he entered the building and he burst into tears and refused to move (resistance and an intense reaction from his Ascendant). However, his mother was prepared and spent almost an hour there with him until he felt confident enough to join the other children. After the first day, he was very happy, and it’s been about two months now, and Jacek hasn’t had a single day where he didn’t want to go to preschool, and on Sunday evenings he’s usually completely excited about Monday! (I wish I could be like that too.)

Ms. Basia was able to start planning her new business with peace of mind, an idea that apparently came to her after our consultation about her potential and talents, but that’s a completely different story…
